Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, aka Ari Lennox, was born in Washington, D.C. on April 26th on the 26th of March, 1991. She's an American singer-songwriter and the first artist signed by J. Cole to his record label Dreamville Records. She released her first EP on the label on October 21 2016 titled Pho where she gained recognition. The album that she released as her debut studio album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox uploaded her music online in 2012 when she released five Finger Discount mixtape and Ariography EP in 2013. In 2014, she dropped additional music on the internet including Bound. In 2015, she appeared on Omen's Elephant Eyes album on Sweat it out on July 21st. The following year, her music was circulating around the Dreamville team as J. Cole wanted her to join him in creating some possible references for Rihanna. She officially was signed to Dreamville Records on 8 December. Backseat was her contribution to the Revenge of the Dreamers II album. In October 2016 the singer-songwriter released her debut EP, Pho. Ari Lennox performed the song Change by J. Cole as well as opening The 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017, in which she accompanied by EarthGang. She also appeared in the music videos Nothing but the Best by EarthGang and Icarus with Bas and her labelmates. Ari Lennox debuted her first single, Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on July 16, 2018, which was released on July 16th, 2018. A music video was later released in September. In November, she dropped two additional singles titled 40 Shades of Choke and Grampa. On November 13 she dropped two more singles entitled The No One and Pdigree. The singer appeared alongside Cole on The Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby, on November 16, and then released the song in a solo version for the album she released her debut. The 20th of February, 2019, a music video was released for the song. It has already received over 3 millions views on YouTube within its initial week. As a supporting act she performed together with 6LACK during December 2018 on their From East Atlanta With Love Tour.
